We believe there is no such thing as a “small win.” Here are the latest Benevolence Farm accomplishments to celebrate.Two of our 307 House residents in Burlington found full-time employment within Alamance County. 💰
•Newest resident, SB, took initiative when she learned about the impact of the government shutdown on SNAP/TANF benefits and submitted her application online within a day of coming home. 🍎
•Farm resident DB insisted we share that she finally selected safe-for-work music for our workday playlist. We listened to a lot of Camp Rock that day. 🎸 DB advocated for herself in five different courthouses across the mountains of North Carolina in order to get her driver’s license back. She was able to negotiate quite a few reductions in charges all on her own. Staff simply provided a ride and emotional support. ⚖️
•Speaking of rides, LC successfully completed the Wheels of Hope program participation and received her 2002 Toyota Camry at Summit Church in Kernersville. In the rural South, transportation is a critical necessity to go to work, make appointments, and visit family as there is no public transportation infrastructure.
